TENDER AWARDED FOR GUNNEDAH HOSITAL REDEVELOPMENT

The Gunnedah community is a step closer to their $53 million Gunnedah Hospital Redevelopment with the contractor appointed.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said Richard Crookes Constructions has been appointed and will work alongside the project team to progress the detailed design for the redevelopment.

“The NSW Liberal and Nationals Government is investing $53 million to redevelop Gunnedah Hospital and provide a modern, fit-for-purpose health facility that will best meet the healthcare needs of the community now and into the future,” Mr Anderson said.

“Having the contractor involved earlier will streamline the design process, allowing the builder to bring their knowledge and expertise of construction to the important planning stage for this redevelopment.

“Richard Crookes Constructions has developed a strong reputation for its expertise in delivering successful health projects in the region, including the new $6 million Tamworth Ambulance Station and Hospital upgrades in Inverell and Armidale and their team will be able to draw on this experience in their role at the Gunnedah Hospital redevelopment.

Minister for Regional Health Bronnie Taylor said Gunnedah Hospital staff and the community will continue to further shape the design of the $53 million redevelopment.

“Once the final designs have been developed, the project team will be seeking feedback with consultation sessions planned in Gunnedah in the coming months. I strongly encourage everyone to have their say,” Mrs Taylor said.

The redevelopment is part of the NSW Government’s record $11.9 billion investment in health infrastructure over four years to 2025-26, with nearly a third of the capital allocation in this financial year going towards regional and rural health facilities.
