QUIRINDI BOWLO ON A ROLL

The Quirindi Bowling Club are primed, ready and eager to host even more keen bowlers this summer with upgrades delivered thanks to the Community Building Partnerships Program.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the Quirindi Bowling Club was looking pristine heading into the summer.

“The local bowls club is about so much more than a game of bowls – it’s an important community connector keeping locals active, engaged and looking after their wellbeing,” Mr Anderson said.

“Bowls is a popular pastime in Quirindi, and its little wonder with the outstanding facilities at the Quirindi Bowling Club.

“The greens are perfect, the clubhouse looking great, and it’s great to learn that people are travelling from far and wide to pay a visit to Quirindi bowlo.

“It’s a real credit to club President Rob Sweep, his board and all the volunteers who work around the clock to keep this great community asset thriving.

“It makes my job easy when it comes to supporting the club’s grant applications, and it’s great to see the work done since the club won $14,000 from the Community Building Partnerships grant earlier this year.

“A fix to an old leaking roof and 7 new sun shades for bowlers means the club is well set up for the future, but the plans don’t stop there, and I’m sure I’ll be backing the club again with future funding applications.

“Thanks to Rob and Vice President Michael Pryor for showing me around the club last week. I look forward to returning for the famous Chinese!”
