POPULAR FREE LEGAL DIARIES FOR SENIORS RETURNS

The Legal Topics for Seniors Diary has returned for 2023, helping our region’s seniors avoid scams, plan for retirement, make a will or get financial help.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the diaries were incredibly popular among local seniors and he expected his 10 boxes of free diaries to go quickly.

“The free Legal Aid diary is a fantastic resource for local seniors who are looking to plan the year ahead while staying safe from predatory scammers,” Mr Anderson said.

“I’ve already had several seniors already drop into my office to check in and see if the diaries have arrived and I expect local seniors to be lining up for their copy over the next few days.

“Stocks are limited so I’d encourage anyone interested in a copy to pay a visit to my office at 13 Fitzroy Street and grab their copy soon. They can also be ordered online and delivered to your home, free of charge.”

Seniors can pre-order their copy of the 2023 Legal Topics for Seniors Diary or calendar online, which will be released on 9 December.

Attorney General Mark Speakman said some seniors can be impacted by legal issues relevant to ageing.

“The information in the Legal Topics for Seniors Diary helps seniors to understand their rights, and details where they can access advice and support if they are experiencing discrimination, elder abuse or financial exploitation.

“Both the diary and calendar provide useful information in clear, straightforward language.”

Minister for Seniors Mark Coure said the Legal Aid diary provides simple yet effective tips to help seniors stay up-to-date.

“In this day and age, it can be hard to keep on top of everything we need to do or be across,” Mr Coure said.

“The diary and calendar speaks directly to seniors with topics and information to help them know when to take action on certain matters, or even act as a prompt to make sure their affairs are in order,” Mr Coure said.

The calendar and diary includes artwork by Aboriginal artist of Dharawal, Bidjigal and Dhungutti descent Garry Purchase.
