MUCH-LOVED DANCE TEACHER CROWNED LOCAL WOMAN OF THE YEAR

Tamworth community leader and principal of Tamworth City Dance Academy Kellie Singh has been named the Tamworth Electorate’s Local Woman of the Year.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson congratulated Mrs Singh who took home the prestigious award at the NSW Women of the Year Awards at the ICC, Sydney.

“The Local Woman of the Year Award is about celebrating women who have an outstanding impact on our local community, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Kellie Singh,” Mr Anderson said.

“Through her years of committed tutelage, the woman affectionately known as “Miss Kellie” has pirouetted her way into Tamworth’s hearts and helped shaped the lives of her students as a trusted and highly respected leader.

“Through her Tamworth City Dance Academy family, Miss Kellie has fostered countless community-minded students through the volunteer work they do. Every local instantly recognises TDCA students from their regular appearances at community events where they showcase their extraordinary talents.

“TDCA have been integral to the running of the Stars of Tamworth Dance for Cancer event, which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Cancer Council.

“Under Kellie’s leadership, alongside husband and studio manager Paul, TDCA have also played a critical role in education at Bullimbal School, taking their specialised dance syllabus to children with disabilities.

“Kellie is a very special person who has had an immeasurable impact on our community. We are very lucky to have her, and I warmly congratulate her on being our Local Woman of the Year for 2026.”
