GRANT TO GROW CULTURAL FESTIVALS

Multicultural organisation that run projects, and activities that build a stronger, more harmonious community are encouraged to apply for funding under the Multicultural NSW Stronger Together Grants Program.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said our region is home to people from more than 100 different cultures, adding to the vibrancy and diversity of the region.

“We are fortunate to have a range of multicultural organisations in our region that work hard to foster harmony and diversity among our communities,” Mr Anderson said.

“Major events like Fiesta La Peel in Tamworth and Gunnedah’s Multicultural Harmony Festival showcase our diversity, but events like that do not happen without the hard work of community-based groups,” Mr Anderson said.

“Multicultural events help bring our communities together, so I’m encouraging any group multicultural or multifaith group looking to boost community cohesion to apply for Multicultural NSW’s Stronger Together Grant program.

Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism, Mark Coure said the continuation of this successful program is thanks to the former NSW Coalition Government’s record investment over two years for our multicultural communities in the 2022-23 Budget.

“Many of our local communities are already home to wonderful and vibrant annual festivals and this funding will go a long way to support existing festivals and encouraging more to occur,” Mr Coure said.

Grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 are available for community groups planning to deliver festivals and events between 1 September 2025 and 31 March 2026.  Applications are open now and close 5pm, Monday 7 July 2025.
