ANDERSON CONTINUES PUSH FOR NEW SCHOOL
Every community deserves access to a high-quality public education, and Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson is planning for the future, continuing his push for a new School in Moore Creek, North of Tamworth.
Mr Anderson said he’s been pushing for a new school for the area, given the population growth Moore Creek is experiencing.
“The Moore Creek area is expected to have a population of more than 10,000 people in the coming years,” Mr Anderson said.
“Housing developments are continuing at a rapid pace, a supermarket and a pub are under construction, the area has a doctor’s surgery, plenty of small businesses and is a thriving upcoming community.
“Public infrastructure must keep up with the needs of the growing community, and that includes a new school for Moore Creek.
“Public schools in East and North Tamworth are already bursting at the seams. Tamworth is a growing community, and Moore Creek is one of our fastest growing areas. We need a new school, and I’m continuing to call on the government to deliver.”
Mr Anderson put the Labor Government on notice in the NSW parliament:
1. Note the major housing and commercial developments underway in the Moore Creek area of Tamworth;
2. Acknowledge that these developments mean a growing population that will need more infrastructure and services, including a new school;
3. Condemn the Labor Government for ignoring my calls to look at new services like a new school;
4. Call on the Labor Government to acknowledge that Tamworth has a growing population and we need more services like schools.
“I’ve been working with council and the community to identify vacant land in the area. I have a strong plan for Moore Creek, and I’ll keep pushing the government to get on board.”
