YOU WON’T GET CAUGHT SHORT AT YARROWITCH - $84,319 FOR AMENITIES BLOCK
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has welcomed a grant of $84,319 to help build a new public amenities block at Yarrowitch Hall.
Mr Anderson said the Hall is the foundation of the Yarrowitch community.
“I’m always thinking how I can help our communities across the electorate, so it’s important we see a community like Yarrowitch is well supported.
“Being the heart of the community, the Hall will be playing an important role this weekend as Yarrowitch is holding a campdraft this Saturday and Sunday.
“The upgraded amenities block means locals can be confident they are well catered for in these situations.
“This is fantastic news for the enthusiastic volunteers and supporters of the Yarrowitch Hall.
“The funding is through the 2018/19 round of the Public Reserves Management Fund program.
“Demand for this funding is highly competitive, last year 777 applications were received, so I am delighted to see Yarrowitch getting a share of the funding,” Mr Anderson concluded.
Walcha Council Mayor, Cr Eric Noakes said the Yarrowitch community was a strong and hard-working group.
“This new block replaced an ageing facility and now visitors passing through the locality have a nice place to stop.
“It’s fantastic to see Kevin providing the support to the Yarrowitch community and to see this new amenities block up and going,” Cr Noakes said.
