TAMWORTH’S OBIECO SAFETY AWARD WIN APPLAUDED
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has congratulated winner of the 2018 Tamworth Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards Excellence in Safety Award, Obieco Industries.
Mr Anderson said Obieco Industries, a local vehicle body manufacturer, received the award for its high standards in work health and safety.
“Staff and management at Obieco have undertaken a highly successful safety journey in recent times.
“Staff across all levels of the business have been pivotal in improving safety culture and in turn, other aspects of the business, including productivity.
“I congratulate Obieco Industries on its achievement, it is setting an example that all North West businesses can follow.
“Safety in the workplace is vital and wherever you live – Werris Creek, Kootingal, Walcha Gunnedah or Tamworth, everyone is entitled to come home at the end of the day without injury.
“Whether you are an employer or a worker, and regardless of your industry, occupation or background, workplace safety is everyone’s responsibility.
“SafeWork NSW works collaboratively with business associations and chambers across NSW to design and deliver targeted small business safety programs that improve work health and safety.
“SafeWork NSW’s sponsorship of the award enabled them to improve awareness of, and find solutions to, local safety challenges,” Mr Anderson concluded.
The award was presented at a recent black-tie function to recognise the achievements of local businesses.
