TAMWORTH PONY CLUB SADDLES UP FOR SUCCESS
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson MP has announced a major upgrade to the facilities at the Tamworth Junior Riding and Pony Club.
Mr Anderson said $25,000 has been granted under the Community Building Partnership Program and will go towards the upgrade of the amenities block.
“I am really pleased to be able to support this project as the current existing toilet and shower block are old, in poor condition and badly need to be upgraded.
“If we are to grow sport in our region then our sporting facilities are so important. We need to provide good facilities, particularly showers and toilets so clubs and organisations like the Tamworth Junior Riding and Pony Club can attract more members. It is also about attracting larger numbers to competition days.
“I firmly believe that we need to continue to focus on junior sport development and that means promoting a healthy lifestyle for kids, it’s so important;
Getting them involved in sport
Getting off the couch
Getting them off their phones
Getting off TV video games
“The Tamworth Junior Riding and Pony Club is located on Bourne’s Lane in Tamworth and also plays host to campers during the Tamworth Country Music Festival each year, and the upgrade will help attract more campers.
“The Community Building Partnership Program is an excellent opportunity for organisations to apply for funding to upgrade their facilities. The program will reopen later this year,” Mr Anderson concluded.
