TAFE NSW FINALISTS DOMINATE NSW TRAINING AWARDS: ANDERSON
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has congratulated one of the region’s brightest young stars after she has been announced as a NSW Training Awards finalist.
The TAFE NSW student is a finalist for one of twelve awards up for grabs at the Training Services NSW event.
“The strong showing by TAFE NSW student includes Ashleigh Dallas, a finalist for Apprentice of the Year – Certificate III in Hairdressing at New England Tamworth TAFE.
“Ashleigh’s nomination is a testament to her commitment to excellence in her chosen field.
“She’s a terrific operator, either with a pair of scissors or a guitar, belting out songs from her own song book.
“This is a wonderful result for TAFE NSW and I have no doubt these finalists will go on to be great ambassadors for the region.
“While we rightly celebrate achievements on the sporting field, it’s just as important to celebrate achievements in the classroom and the workplace.
“TAFE NSW plays a critical role in shaping the careers of students across a whole range of important sectors.
“There are half a million jobs in the pipeline right now which do not require a university degree so there has never been a better time to utilise the NSW Government’s world-class vocational education and training system.”
The NSW Training Awards will be held in Sydney on 12 September and will celebrate the excellence of apprentices, trainees and students undertaking vocational education and training.
NSW Training Award winners will proceed to the coveted Australian Training Awards which will be held in Sydney later this year.
