SHOWCASING OUR LOCAL GOVERNMENTS AT THE CLICK OF A BUTTON
Locals can now find out more about Tamworth Regional, Gunnedah Shire, Walcha and Liverpool Plains Councils and the services they provide at the click of a button, Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said.
Mr Anderson said the NSW Government’s Your Council website allows local residents to access comprehensive statistics on the operations of their local council and the profile of their community.
“This is great news for those people in these local government areas who have an active interest in the affairs of their councils.
“At the click of a button residents can see their local council’s expenditure on infrastructure and services as well as the number of facilities such as swimming pools, libraries and public halls within their local government area.
“The website also has an interactive map where ratepayers can compare their council to others around the State on a range of measures such as rates, expenditure, and infrastructure backlogs.
“This new interactive website clearly demonstrates the sheer size and scale of our local government sector.
“Not only can residents learn about their own local council, they can also see the great work of our State’s councils as a whole with a comprehensive snapshot of the NSW local government sector,” Mr Anderson concluded.
The website draws on data already collected by the Office of Local Government from NSW councils and other agencies and presents it in an easy to understand and user friendly way.
The Your Council website will be updated annually as new data becomes available and can be accessed here: www.yourcouncil.nsw.gov.a
