PUBLIC HEALTH SYSTEM NOT FOR SALE
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson says a union scare campaign which claims the NSW Government is “Americanising” our public hospitals is nothing but baseless lies.
Mr Anderson said while he has the upmost respect for our nurses and midwives, this campaign from their union is an appalling case of scaremongering.
“Any talk of privatisation is complete utter nonsense,” Mr Anderson said.
“If The Nationals are re-elected to government, we will continue to deliver free public hospital services for all public patients – just like we have for the last four years.
“There is no ‘Americanisation’ of the NSW health system.
“I can guarantee that public patients, while cared for in a public or private hospital, will pay no charges if The Nationals are in government.
“The NSW Government will continue to cover these costs.
“The Nationals in government will not sell the state’s public hospitals to private corporations.
“Since 2011 The Nationals have invested more than $2 billion into upgrading badly neglected regional hospitals and building new hospitals, like the $220 million Tamworth Hospital.
“We’ve also increased the health budget by more than 20 per cent since coming into government in 2011, with recurrent spending at $18.7 billion this financial year.”
