Tamworth MP Kevin Anderson is vowing to put Tamworth at the front of the queue with the Government’s new leadership team following their commitment to infrastructure in regional NSW.

Mr Anderson said there are currently a number of projects that he would like to see funded and he is calling on the Premier and Deputy Premier to come to Tamworth to see the importance of the projects first hand.

“I have made no secret of my passion for building key infrastructure in our electorate and Tamworth has a number of projects that I would like to see money on the table for.

“Securing more funding for the Northern Inland Centre of Sporting Excellence on top of the $1million we have already delivered is paramount to the delivery of the project and I am highlighting it as a top priority for Tamworth.

“Improving our roads is something that I have always been passionate about. We can already see the major improvements along Manilla Road however the job is not done yet, we need to continue the work to help improve traffic movements and make the area more efficient.

“The other project that is vitally important for the further economic development of Tamworth is the freight rail centre. A freight rail centre has the potential to bring employment, increase our freight options, value add to existing road and air networks and lower costs for farmers and producers.

“Make no mistake, during my time as the Member for Tamworth I guarantee we will continue to see investment in major infrastructure. We’ve already delivered the Tamworth Hospital, Chaffey Dam and major road upgrades and soon work will start on upgrades to the airport and improvements to the train station.

“With the delivery of these next projects we will continue to see the growth that Tamworth is destined for.

“Building a better region is not just a slogan, it’s a commitment to the people who I represent,” Mr Anderson concluded.
