NOMINATIONS OPEN FOR 2016 LOCAL GRANDPARENT OF THE YEAR AWARD
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today called for nominations for the 2016 Local NSW Grandparent of the Year Awards.
The Local NSW Grandparent of the Year Awards celebrates the role grandparents and older people play in our community.
Mr Anderson said the Awards are an opportunity for younger generations to recognise the many ways that grandparents and older people enrich our lives and communities.
“Grandparents and older people make an enormous contribution to our community which makes it a better place to live and work.
“These Awards are an opportunity for us to thank them for the contribution they make across many different areas of community life.
“If you know a grandparent or older person who is making a difference in our local community, then nominate them today.”
Nominations for the 2016 Local NSW Grandparent of the Year Awards are open until 10th October 2016.
The winner will be honoured at a special morning tea with their family and friends hosted by Mr Anderson.
NSW Grandparents Day was launched by the NSW Government in 2011 and is a key initiative under the NSW Ageing Strategy.
