MOBILE PINK SLIP TRIAL EXPANDED TO TAMWORTH – ANDERSON
Motorists from the Tamworth region will benefit from an expanded mobile pink slip trial that will allow people to get a pink slip at a time and place that suits them.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the trial will begin in Tamworth from December.
“This is great news for local motorists with a commitment to delivering the services local communities need and want, no matter where you live.
“We know this option appeals to many younger motorists and families, with the ability to save time and get an inspection done at home or at work.
“I am always thinking of ways I can help our local people.
“The rollout of this trial is a real win for regional communities, with mobile safety inspections for cars, motorcycles, boat trailers and caravans able to be done by an authorised examiner.
“This trial insists the fee for the pink slip itself is a fixed amount, equivalent to what a customer visiting an authorised mechanic pays.
“The trial was originally delivered in response to one-third of surveyed Roads and Maritime Services consumers indicating they would use the mobile pink slip service.
“In the first 16 months of the trial in and around Sydney there were 4297 mobile pink slip services completed,” Mr Anderson concluded.
To take advantage of mobile pink slips, customers simply need to make direct contact with a participating authorised pink slip provider, agree on a call-out fee, time and safe location for the inspection.
