Residents and businesses in the Tamworth electorate will be better connected with work now underway to eliminate up to 795 mobile phone black spots across NSW.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said locals in the Tamworth electorate are amongst the first in NSW to benefit from improved mobile phone coverage.

“Driving around the electorate I know the areas where there is no mobile phone coverage or patchy coverage at best and it’s extremely frustrating.

“This initiative will help locals stay connected, improve local emergency services and make it easier to do business.

“As part of the three year rollout, residents and businesses in the Tamworth electorate are amongst the first to benefit from new or upgraded mobile base stations being rolled out as part of the Program with Woolomin set to receive upgrades within the next 6 months.”

The NSW Government will deliver 15 local towers built or upgraded at the following locations which I know the community will be excited about:

  • Attunga
  • Woolomin
  • Barraba
  • Oxley Vale
  • Dungowan
  • Piallamore
  • Duri
  • Tamworth
  • Fossickers Way
  • Walcha
  • Hallsville
  • Walcha Road
  • Manilla
  • Westdale
  • Moonbi

This fulfils the NSW Government election commitment to invest $24 million to fix some of the worst mobile phone blackspots across NSW.
