HOLA, BONJOUR & KON'NICHIWA - FUNDING FOR MULTICULTURAL FESTIVALS AND EVENTS
Community organisations across the region are being urged to apply for funding that could help deliver multicultural festivals and events.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said applications for the NSW Government’s Celebrating Diversity Events grants program are now open.
“Multicultural festivals and events play an important role in celebrating our community’s cultural diversity, and promoting a message of inclusion and welcome.
“Tamworth’s Fiesta La Peel drew a crowd of an estimated 20,000 last year and Nundle’s Go for Gold Festival each Easter is going strong.
“There are so many fantastic and hardworking grassroots organisations in our community, which could be eligible for up to $10,000 funding.”
“Multicultural festivals add to the rich tapestry of our regional and rural communities and it’s a cause for celebration.
“All eligible community organisations should consider applying for the program.
“These festivals are often only possible because of community members who volunteer countless hours of their time between other responsibilities.
“This program is here to provide a helping hand. The NSW Government is proud to have supported multicultural festivals and events across every corner of our State.”
Celebrating Diversity Event Grants are now open and will close 5pm Friday, 20 September 2019.
