GUNNEDAH COMMUNITY INVITED TO TAP INTO $400M DIGITAL CONNECTIVITY EXPANSION

Gunnedah residents and businesses are invited to share their views on digital connectivity at two community consultation events in early November as part of a commitment to bridge the digital divide between metropolitan and regional NSW.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said results from the community consultation events and an online survey will help inform how the $400 million Regional Digital Connectivity program should be invested.

“This is great news for Gunnedah residents as we know the connectivity issues impacting our regional communities are highly diverse.

“That’s why understanding those experiences is key to delivering a solution that will have a lasting impact in our regions.

“There will be two sessions in Gunnedah on 6 November from 5 to 7pm and then on 7 November from 10 to 11.30am.

“These consultation events will be a great opportunity for residents and businesses in the area around Gunnedah to have their say and help shape the future of digital connectivity for the region.

“With technology now part of our everyday lives, the unprecedented investment in connectivity for regional NSW will deliver incredible opportunities for our community in the coming years.

“It will boost investment and business opportunities, improve community access to services, and ensure our younger residents have the educational opportunities enjoyed by their city cousins,” Mr Anderson concluded.

The survey closes on 31 December 2019 and is open to all residents and visitors in regional NSW at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/regionalconnect

Hard copies of the survey are also available at the local Service NSW centre and Gunnedah Shire Council. Further information:  www.nsw.gov.au/connectregionalnsw
