FUNDING BOOST JUST THE SHOT FOR GUN CLUBS IN TAMWORTH AND MANILLA
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has today announced $16,466 in NSW Government funding for Tamworth and Peel Valley Rifle Club, Tamworth Pistol Club and Manilla Pistol Club as part of the 2017/18 Safe Shooting Program.
Mr Anderson said the funding has been locked and loaded to provide computer technology for on-line compliance systems for the Manilla Club and the Tamworth and Peel Rifle Club and the installation of safety baffles at the Tamworth Pistol Club.
The project at the Tamworth Pistol Club received $15,000 for the supply and installation of one row of structural steel safety baffles and also construction of the concrete footings and structure.
The Tamworth and Peel Rifle Club will receive $1,566 for the purchase of laptop, printer and internet to access the Falcon online system, providing the club the technology to install and operate the NSW Firearms Register online.
Manilla Pistol Club is to receive $900 for the purchase of a laptop to run the Falcon online system.
“The main aim of the Safe Shooting Program is to increase the safety at shooting facilities in NSW as well as during club sponsored activities held away from a club's permanent base.
“I congratulate the three clubs on their successful application and look forward to seeing the benefits of this upgrade.
“I’ve met with members of these committees and they are enthusiastic supporters of this sport and participating organisations.
“It is a great pleasure to assist local clubs by providing the funds to increase the availability, standard and quality of sport facilities in this region,” Mr Anderson concluded.
