ENERGY INNOVATION AND MINING EXPO ANOTHER IMPORTANT DATE ON CALENDAR

The inaugural Energy, Innovation & Mining Expo [eIMEx] is a neat fit with the rapid growth of mining industry and the growing renewable energy scene in the Gunnedah district, Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said.

“I am delighted to be associated with one of the region’s newest events and events like the eIMEx will play an important role in driving additional overnight visitors to Gunnedah.

“The organising committee identified key areas that needed to be support and I was happy to support them and fight hard to secure $20,000 from the NSW Government’s 2018 Incubator Event Fund.

“This fund assists rural and regional events in their first or second year to grow attendance and boost the local visitor economy.

“The Expo will have a positive impact on local hotels, restaurants, shops and attractions – helping to stimulate local economies and create more jobs.

“Exhibitors at the energy, innovation and mining sectors are here to showcase and demonstrate the latest technology and equipment.

“Visitors to the Expo will be able to learn about the issues around the coexistence of agriculture and mining and see the latest renewable energy developments.

“Gunnedah has a 46-year association with the southern hemisphere’s largest agricultural field days – Agquip.

“We are doing everything we can to supercharge regional communities and we are growing the regional tourism pie across NSW, making sure everybody gets a slice.

“This is a fantastic way to fuel our local economy by putting more heads on hotel beds, diners in our restaurants and shoppers in our boutiques.

“I would like to extend a warm welcome to the exhibitors and visitors to this wonderful event and look forward to the expo continuing to grow as the years go by,” Mr Anderson concluded.
