COMMUNITY BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS FUNDING OPEN
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has announced that the popular Community Building Partnerships Program is now open.
Mr Anderson said as part of building a better region the program offers grant funding for infrastructure based projects that meet a need in our local community.
“Non-for-profit community organisations and our local councils are once again encouraged to apply for funding to build and improve facilities throughout the electorate.
“This is also a fantastic program as it also supports our local economy through the creation of construction jobs with businesses benefiting from infrastructure delivery.
“There was strong interest last year with 20 projects receiving funding totalling $400,000 across the electorate,” Mr Anderson said.
Community Building Partnership projects that received funding in 2014 include:
- $60,000 for the Kootingal War Memorial Hall
- $21,537 for the Australian Red Cross Hall Tamworth
- $28,000 for Ronald McDonald House
- $15,000 for Gunnedah Meals on Wheels
Mr Anderson said “By assisting these organisations to upgrade and improve their facilities it will make a difference for many people in our community and will go a long way in building a better region.
“I look forward to seeing what projects the community would like funded out of this year’s round of the Community Building Partnerships.
“I encourage all community groups that have a project to apply for funding,” Mr Anderson concluded.
Applications can be made via the Community Building Partnerships website at www.communitybuildingpartnership.nsw.gov.au. Applications are now open and close
