CHANGED CONDITIONS ON NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY AT MOONBI
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions on the New England Highway as part of ongoing maintenance being carried out about 300 metres south of Mount View Road, about 10 kilometres north of Moonbi.
“Traffic will be reduced to one lane, alternate flow for road resurfacing, which will involve removing the existing road surface and placing new asphalt.
“The resurfacing work will be carried out from today [Monday 16 July] between 7am and 6pm on weekdays and will take two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
“Vehicles over 4.6 metres wide and/or 30 metres long will not be able to travel through the site between 12pm and 6pm each day for the duration of this work.
“Vehicles exceeding these dimensions will need to travel through the worksite before midday or after 6pm.
“Electronic message boards will be in place to notify drivers of these restrictions.
“Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists.
“Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control,” Mr Anderson concluded.
