ANDERSON WELCOMES NEW MOBILE TOWERS FOR TAMWORTH ELECTORATE
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today welcomed the announcement that the Tamworth electorate will receive 15 new mobile towers to fix mobile black spots.
Mr Anderson said that there are a number of areas that are black spots and he welcomes the move to improve communication networks in our area through the Mobile Black Spot Programme.
“Communication is critical in regional areas. Many people are isolated on farms and in smaller regional centres so phone and internet services are very important.
“I know as I drive around the region how frustrating it is when the phone keeps dropping in and out. So hopefully these new towers will go a long way in fixing that problem in the area they are located.
New sites to be built in the Tamworth electorate include:
• Fossickers Way
• Oxley Vale
• Walcha Road
Mr Anderson said “Our roads are getting busier especially around Dungowan, Woolomin and Walcha, so it is also a safety issue, if emergency services are needed then that is a big problem if there is no phone service particularly around Walcha and Dungowan.
“This investment in communications will go a long way in building a better region and I look forward to seeing the work commence on the towers,” Mr Anderson concluded.
