ANDERSON TO OFFICIALLY OPEN REGIONAL AWARDS
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson will officially open the NSW/ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards tomorrow on behalf of the Hon Kevin Humphries MP, Minister for Natural Resources, Lands and Water and Minister for Western NSW.
Mr Anderson said that the program is a great way to reward organisations and groups that share a community spirit by enhancing their social, economic, commercial or environmental prosperity of their town and to get the recognition they deserve.
“Our community is full of achievers, and I encourage anyone to nominate a group or individual that you know contributes economically, socially or sustainably to our community.
“Whether you are a business, dedicated community group, regional event, landcare or environmental expert, I encourage you to come along,” Mr Anderson said.
The NSW/ ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards will be calling for nominations in the following categories:
- The Crown Lands Crown Reserve Trust Community Manager’s Award
- The Crown Lands Crown Reserve Trust Corporate Manager’s Award
- The Prime Super Community of the Year Population Over 15,000 Award
- The Prime Super Community of the Year Population Under 15,000 Award
- The Peabody Environment and Landcare Award
- The Dobija World Events and Tourism Award
- The Elite Coatings Regional Service Award
Mr Anderson said that the winners will either receive $5000 thanks to the Commonwealth Bank or Television Advertising on PRIME7.
“All winners will also receive a hand crafted glass trophy.
“Nominations forms will be available at the launch of the awards tomorrow at the Best Western Sanctuary Inn in Tamworth.
“I look forward to officially opening the awards and I encourage everyone in the community to get involved in this fantastic initiative,” Mr Anderson concluded.
