ANDERSON CONTINUES THE PUSH FOR WATER SECURITY
I am deeply concerned by the news of a local business being forced to close its doors due to the lack of water. Farmers are also in severe stress for this reason.
This is a timely reminder and sends a very clear message about why we are upgrading Chaffey Dam. This will allow the dam to hold more water and provide the chance to look at new options hopefully preventing this situation from occurring again.
It is so important that we have the water security needed not only for domestic purposes but also for businesses.
We need to continue to be watchful about our consumption while also looking at options to increase our water storages like we are with Chaffey Dam and the possibility of Dungowan Dam and new dams in our region such as the dam on the Apsley River.
We are a growing city and region the demand for water is increasing, we need to be able meet that growth and water is the lifeblood for that continued Development.
Prosperity does not occur through cuts it occurs through growth that's why we need to continue to invest in infrastructure like Chaffey dam and others so that we can continue to build a better region.
