ANDERSON CONTINUES PUSH FOR THE BEST IN EDUCATION
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson following his re-election is continuing his push to rebuild our schools and provide the very best education for children in the Tamworth electorate.
Mr Anderson directed a question to Education Minister Adrian Piccoli on the floor of Parliament on how the Government is rebuilding regional schools and ensuring that our children receive a world class education.
“We have seen significant investment in schools in the Tamworth electorate, but there is still more to be done.
“The pressure needs to be maintained on the Government following the election to make sure we get our fair share and I will continue to keep that pressure on just like I have in the past.
“As part of my strong education plan for the Tamworth electorate I will ensure that the Tamworth electorate is at the forefront of the Minister’s mind when making decisions for our schools.
“This includes providing great teaching environments paired with environments that inspire our children to learn.
“It also includes providing teachers with the best resources and programs to give our children the very best education they deserve.
“It is great to be part of a Government that backs its commitments with actions.
“Included in these actions is the Secondary Schools Renewal Program, to which the Government has committed $120 million to upgrade almost 60 high schools.
“A substantial part of this funding is going to be directed towards regional high schools like Tamworth High, Farrer Memorial Agricultural High and Peel High.
“This is the type of investment that I want to see continued in the Tamworth electorate and I will work hard to see this happen.”
