ANDERSON PRAISES OXLEY POLICE AND PUBLIC COMBINE FOR FAST RESULT
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has praised the fast work by Oxley Police to apprehend two teenagers who are alleged to have assaulted and stolen property from an 82-year-old woman on Wednesday.
“This is a great result for Oxley Police District Chief Inspector Jeff Budd and his team.
“Using forensic evidence and plenty of public support, the police have this case wrapped up by lunchtime the next day.
“I am so proud of our police. This is a great example of the hard work and determination of members of Oxley Police.
“I also want to thank the increased number of people who are contacting Crime Stoppers. This allows more police to be on the front foot holding criminals to account.
“It is also why we say ring the police, report any suspicious or criminal activity and trust them to do their job.
“Our police need to know what is happening in the community and when they get the right information they can act on it and get a result like this one.
“Our police work tirelessly to keep our streets and homes safe and when the community works with the police, the end result is a win for everyone.
“We have also seen the recent arrests which have broken a drug ring of national significance by Strike Force Radius.
“Earlier this week the Budget promised to invest a record $583 million to increase the NSW Police Force’s crime fighting capability with the addition of 1,500 new officers.
“I’ll be working hard with Minister Elliott and the Police Commissioner to ensure Oxley Police District gets its fair share of extra police and to continue to upgrade our facilities,” Mr Anderson concluded.
