Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has gone straight back to work on behalf of the community by asking a question in the first sitting of the 56th Parliament.

Mr Anderson asked Deputy Premier Troy Grant how the Government intends to deliver on its mandate for regional NSW.

Deputy Premier Troy Grant said during the election, a plan was announced for regional NSW.

“The NSW Nationals has heard the concerns of our regions, we will invest and grow regional communities,” Deputy Premier Grant said.

Mr Anderson said “The Deputy Premier outlined a number of key plans to continue to rebuild NSW, just like my strong plan for the future of the Tamworth electorate.

“We will improve our local health services, grow our economy, invest in transport and continue to build a stronger, safer community,” Mr Anderson said.

“Today, this government is delivering hospital upgrades, just like the redevelopment of the Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital.

“We are making our roads safer just like the upgrade of Manilla Road and the Oxley Highway.

“There is investment in education and we are maintaining our record police numbers and providing them the resources they need to keep our streets safe including a permanent dog squad based in the Tamworth area to serve the New England and North West regions.

“Our farmers, our water and prime agricultural land need to be protected and I will continue to work hard to ensure that we get the right between mining and agriculture.

"The NSW Government is committed to rebuilding regional NSW and the Tamworth    electorate and we will get on with the job over the next four years.”
