Media Releases - Kevin Anderson Media Release
The Nationals Leader Andrew Stoner and Nationals candidate for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today said that the Keneally Labor Government has again proven how out of touch they are with the region’s community by axing local jobs.
This follows news that the Land and Property Management Authority (LPMA) is planning to move up to 70 jobs from country offices into Newcastle.[1]
"The decision to centralise LPMA jobs at the expense of local communities like Tamworth is another kick in the teeth for regional NSW after 15 years of State Labor incompetence," Mr Stoner said.
"The Nationals raised this issue with Labor Minister for Lands Tony Kelly yesterday in Parliament, but he failed to answer the question.
"It is simply not good enough that the Keneally Labor Government is happy to withdraw yet more government jobs from the Tamworth region.
"This is yet more evidence that when it comes to Labor, all the community can expect is more of the same, nothing has changed," he said.
The Nationals candidate for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson said that after 15 years of Labor, the only way to change regional NSW is to change the government.
"The NSW Liberals and Nationals have the positive, practical plans to Make Regional NSW Number One Again," Mr Anderson said.
"A NSW Liberals and Nationals Government led by Barry O'Farrell and Andrew Stoner will preside over a decade of decentralisation – and this includes the public service.
"Labor has had 15 years but all the Tamworth community is getting is more of the same old Labor.
"NSW needs real change and that can only happen in Tamworth with a vote for The Nationals on 26 March 2011," Mr Anderson said.
