Media Releases - Kevin Anderson Media Release

NSW Nationals Leader and Shadow Roads Minister Andrew Stoner and Nationals candidate for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the primary goal of a NSW Liberals & Nationals Government would be wealth creation throughout regional NSW.

Andrew Stoner said that in order to create wealth in regional NSW, government services and infrastructure must be up to scratch to foster that growth.

"Labor has failed to provide conditions conducive to wealth creation in regional NSW," Andrew Stoner said.

"Under 16 years of Labor, we have seen withdrawal of government services, crumbling infrastructure and neither the vision nor determination to expand regional economies.

"The NSW Liberals & Nationals have the positive, practical plans to Make Regional NSW Number One Again.

"Regional Kick-Start will provide up to $1.6 billion in additional regional infrastructure, 40,000 new regional jobs and $7,000 in Regional Relocation Grants.

"Additionally, if elected, I will be Minister for Trade and Investment to transform the former Department of State and Regional Development into a major economic force, bringing investment and jobs to regional NSW.

"If elected, I will install a Deputy Premier's unit inside the powerful Department of Premier and Cabinet to ensure that regional economies are at the heart of Government.

"The Nationals will have direct input into Government policies and decisions and will ensure the regional communities we represent have a direct voice within government.

"Only by voting for Kevin Anderson and The Nationals on March 26 will the Tamworth community have that direct access in any future NSW Liberals & Nationals Government," Andrew Stoner said.

The Nationals candidate for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said the Tamworth region has gone from strength to strength even during the Global Financial Crisis, but it would benefit greatly from being directly involved in the NSW Liberals & Nationals economic and infrastructure plans.

"Tamworth needs a representative who has a seat at the table," Kevin Anderson said.

"This is exciting times in NSW where we are seeing a shift in focus onto regional economies – it would be disappointing if Tamworth missed out."
