Media Releases - Kevin Anderson Media Release
NSW Nationals Leader and Shadow Roads Minister Andrew Stoner and Nationals candidate for Tamworth Kevin Anderson today toured Gunnedah and inspected potential projects that could be delivered under a NSW Liberals & Nationals government's Resources for the Regions program if elected on March 26 .Andrew Stoner and Kevin Anderson met with Gunnedah Mayor Adam Marshall and discussed the merits of the Gunnedah Rail Overpass project.
"The Gunnedah region has undergone mining expansion which has brought many benefits to the town," Andrew Stoner said.
"The NSW Liberals & Nationals Resources for the Regions program acknowledges the additional stress that can be placed on local infrastructure from that development.
"We are acutely aware of the need to balance conflicting land interests and protect prime agricultural land – something Labor has failed to do for 16 years.
"I am in Gunnedah here today at the request of Kevin Anderson to see the types of projects that should be considered under our Resources for the Regions program.
"Kevin Anderson is a great advocate for Gunnedah and would make a great representative in the NSW Liberals & Nationals parliamentary team.
"But for that to happen we need people in the Gunnedah region to vote for Kevin Anderson and The Nationals on March 26.
"It's not enough for people who want a change of government to not vote accordingly and hope for the best," Andrew Stoner said.
Nationals candidate for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said that if elected he would make sure that the Gunnedah community got their fair share of the Resources for the Regions program.
"Labor has failed to provide a Resources for the Regions style program for 16 years so it's good the NSW Liberals & Nationals have announced this plan," Kevin Anderson said.
"Given the importance of the Gunnedah region to the state's economy, I look forward to the region being a beneficiary of the Resources for the Regions program.
"If elected on March 26 I will continue to fight for funds for Gunnedah and important projects like the Gunnedah Rail Overpass," Kevin Anderson said.
