Tintinhull Public School bubbling with funds

Tintinhull Public School is set to benefit from $16 899 in additional funding to upgrade their school facilities.

Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson, meet with Mr Steve Hawkins, Principal of Tintinhull Public School, today to view firsthand how the funds will be spent.

“Tintinhull Public School will use $15 000 for the relocation of bubblers and the associated structure from the Public School Upgrade Program and an additional $1,899 from the Minor Maintenance Budget.

Mr Hawkins said the funding was very welcome at the school. "We have recently been renovating and making improvements to our facilities. It is great to have this funding as it will assist with the relocation of the bubblers to a better position in the school.

Mr Anderson said "In line with the Government’s commitment to increase decision making at a local level, principal's and their communities were able to identify facilities for upgrading, with schools also able to self-manage the projects.

"The work announced for Tintinhull Public School is part of $10 million being spent this financial year under the four-year upgrade program.

More than 125 schools around NSW are benefitting from this round of funding, with work on all the projects due for completion by 30 June 2012.

In 2011 – 12 The Liberal & Nationals Government is also spending $5 million of an extra $20 million for school maintenance.

“I am determined to provide the best learning environments possible for schools in our local community." Mr Anderson concluded
