2011 Christmas Food Drive – Goods Delivered

This year Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson established a tradition of using his Fitzroy Street office to facilitate a Christmas Food Drive.

This food was delivered to UnitingCare Tamworth on Friday and will be distributed to local families who are in most need.

"There are many people in our local community who struggle through the festive season. This can occur for many reasons including financial stress, mental illness, homelessness, family turmoil and an absence of loved ones."

"I was overwhelmed by the support of our local community, and the generosity shown."

Nicolette Willis from UnitingCare Tamworth welcomed the delivery. "This donated food will help to alleviate some of the pressures of the festive season by assisting local households who might otherwise struggle to get a meal on the table," Mrs Willis said.

Mr Anderson said he was overwhelmed by the support of our local community, and the generosity shown.

"I am happy to be able to make a small contribution to assist UnitingCare with the good works which they do. I look forward to continuing this tradition in the coming years," Mr Anderson said.
