BETTER BOATING GRANT FOR LAKE KEEPIT
Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson has announced that Tamworth electorate has won a grant under the Better Boating Program to upgrade maritime facilities in the area.
Mr Anderson welcomed the grant saying the infrastructure work is important for our local region.
"Lake Keepit State Park has received a grant of $23 000 to assist with the upgrade of the park's boat ramp.
"Specifically, the funds will be used for the reconstruction and sealing of the turning circles on both sides of the existing boat ramp at Lake Keepit.
"This work will provide better facilities for our local recreational water users.
The grant is part of more than $4.5 million in grants to provide new and improved boating facilities across NSW.
The $4.53 million in funding under the Roads and Maritime Services Better Boating Program (BBP) will support 52 projects in regional NSW and four boat ramp developments in Sydney Harbour.
“By supporting new and improved boating facilities, Roads and Maritime Services is putting customers first in our boating communities statewide,” Mr Gay said.
“It is estimated that more than 1.5 million people go boating in NSW each year and making access to our waterways safer and more convenient is good news for the community, he said.
“This grant funding recognises the important role boating has to play in our communities and the economy.”
