Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson MP, will present the two funding grants to Tamworth Regional Council Mayor, Col Murray, and Tamworth Regional Gallery, Acting Director, Pam Brown, today.
Mr Anderson said, "I am pleased to present this funding to the Tamworth Regional Gallery as it will assist them to expand upon already existing opportunities for people in our region to enjoy the arts.
The funding grants are as follows:
- $25 000 for the appointment of a new Education Officer for the Gallery
- $10 000 for the public presentation of the "Angus Nivison: Major Survey" Exhibition
"The appointment of a new Education Officer for the Gallery will provide a comprehensive educational program that relates directly to the annual program and identifies the needs of the education sector in the Tamworth region.
"A full time Education Officer will actively promote and encourage the use of the Gallery and its facilities and increase visitation from school and community groups.
"The Angus Nivison exhibition brings together for the first time, significant works of this local artist. As an artist, Nivison has consistently and confidently used the landscape genre as a means of expressing diverse thoughts and inner reflections.
