SPEAK OUT AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE ON WHITE RIBBON DAY
Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson today encouraged the local community to condemn all forms of violence against women by supporting White Ribbon Day.
The White Ribbon campaign encourages men and their communities to make a stand against violence against women.
Mr Anderson said the Government’s NSW 2021 plan includes actions to reduce domestic and family violence against women and their children throughout the state.
“The Staying Home Leaving Violence program is being expanded to an additional five sites with a further $2.5 million. This will enable women and their children to remain in their homes and to support them make their home environments safe.”
Mr Anderson said politicians, government workers, educators, the non-government sector, media and communities must work together in raising awareness about domestic and family violence, taking action and ultimately ending this criminal behaviour.
