Party Time at the Launch for 40th Jayco Tamworth Country Music Festival
The 40th Jayco Tamworth Country Music Festival and the Country Music Awards of Australia were launched today in Sydney by the Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson.
A star studded line up attended the event including Golden Guitars winners Graeme Connors, Troy Casser Daley, Adam Harvey and Becky Cole.
Tamworth Regional Council Mayor Col Murray was accompanied by Cr Helen Tickle.
Mr Anderson who was representing the NSW Premier Mr Barry O'Farrell and the Minister for Tourism and Major Events Mr George Souris, congratulated the Tamworth Country Music Festival on its 40 year anniversary.
"The NSW Government through Destination NSW is proud to support the Tamworth Country Music Festival and Awards in 2012. Turning forty is a major milestone and a huge achievement for an event that keeps getting better, year after year.
"Destination NSW has worked closely with the Tamworth Regional Council to develop the festival into a world class event.
"The Tamworth Country Music festival is an iconic regional event on the NSW Events Calendar, generating over $20 million for both the State and our local region," he said.
This year the TCMF will celebrate its 40th anniversary with the theme for the 40th year "Looking Forward, Looking Back" taken from the song performed by Slim Dusty and written by Don Walker.
"I would also like to thank the artists who make the trek to Tamworth each year, without their support of this great event the fans would not come. This is a wonderful community event that relies on many including Tamworth Regional Council and the industry for its support.
