WALCHA SET TO RECEIVE OVER $34,000 TO IMPROVE PUBLIC RESERVES
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has joined with the Member for Northern Tablelands Adam Marshall in welcoming more than $34,000 to support the development, maintenance and improvement of public reserves in Walcha.
Mr Anderson said Walcha will become part of the Tamworth Electorate in March 2015 and I am working with Adam Marshall to ensure that there is a smooth transition and that the electorate continues to receive its fair share of funding and support. I am committed to that process.
“I know Walcha has wonderful public reserves that are valuable assets to the community and managed through local sports clubs, social clubs, businesses and tourism.
“This funding will allow community trust managers to carry out improvements that will bring greater social and economic benefits to the area.
“I am very pleased to announce that as part of this funding boost, Walcha will receive:
- Walcha Youth Hall: $15,000 for the replacement of the entrance foyer at the hall
- Walcha Showground : $13,000 for the installation of an access ramp to the dining room and shelter roof in BBQ facility
- Walcha Tennis Courts Reserve Trust: $6,805 for the upgrade of the outdoor area including installation of a Sun Shade, sandpit and outdoor furniture.
“By supporting these vital projects the NSW Government is supporting and promoting the economy in Walcha, as well as the role the wonderful local volunteers play in the ongoing management of the Crown reserve system.
“Adam and I are pleased to announce this round of funding and we look forward to seeing the improvements made to the Walcha Crown reserve facilities,” Mr Anderson concluded.
