UP TO $27,500 IN FUNDING AVAILABLE - REGIONAL EVENT ORGANISERS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson said organisers of regional events in the second half of 2019 are being encouraged to apply for a slice of the $500,000 funding on offer from the NSW Government.
“I just want to remind event organisers that applications for Round Two of the Incubator Event Fund and Flagship Event Fund are still open and are set to close on Sunday, 13 January.
“We know that when people come to events in rural and regional NSW they in turn inject invaluable cash into our communities and their many cafes, motels, pubs and shops.”
“The Flagship Event Fund offers an annual grant of $20,000 or a triennial grant of $27,500 to support marketing activities.
“The funding is designed to help get first-time events off the ground or assist relatively new events gain the reputation they need to become even bigger and more successful.
“Our community is already blessed with some of the best events in NSW, but I’m keen to see even more world-class events come to life in our region.
“Last year events like the inaugural Gunnedah Mining Expo and the Tamworth Cycling Festival received seed funding and enjoyed great success when they were staged.
“I’d love to see that rural and regional NSW gets a fair slice of the State’s booming tourism sector through initiatives such as this, which help draw even more visitors to country NSW,” Mr Anderson concluded.
The Incubator Event Fund offers grants of up to $20,000 to new events to assist with elements such as temporary infrastructure, marketing and promotions, venue hire or attendee research.
Applications for Round Two of both funds close on Sunday, 13 January. For more information and to lodge an application, visit – www.destinationnsw.com.au/rfep
