SIGNIFICANT BUDGET INVESTMENT FOR TAMWORTH TAFE
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has welcomed significant investment of $6.6million for the Tamworth TAFE Campus upgrade following the NSW 2014-15 State Budget yesterday.
Mr Anderson said that he values the vital role that TAFE plays in providing vocational education and is a world class training system that delivers skills critical to our community.
“This $6.6million is part of the continuing upgrade of the campus with the second instalment seeing the upgrade of community services, health, plumbing and disability services.
“This will ensure that TAFE continues to provide the very best training in through excellent teachers and high quality facilities.
“TAFE plays the lead role as the public provider of vocational education and training in NSW.
“I am confident of the ability of TAFE to thrive in a competitive environment and continue to deliver quality services.
“The Tamworth Campus has been at the forefront of planning for the Smart and Skilled reforms and their preparedness will set them up for the future.
“Smart and Skilled will give people the chance to gain the skills they need to get a job and advance their careers. It will deliver quality training to meet the needs of students, employers and communities in regions.
“The Tamworth Campus and the New England Institute are making sure that they are leading the way in providing high quality, responsive training that meets the unique demands across our region,” Mr Anderson concluded.
