SIXTEEN STUDENTS EMBARK ON NURSING CAREER
Sixteen nursing students from across the New England and North West will graduate with a Diploma of Enrolled Nursing at TAFE NSW Gunnedah today.
The intensive 18 month course combines block attendance using the state of the art facilities at the Gunnedah campus, online learning and 400 hours of clinical placement within local hospitals.
Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson, congratulated the graduates and said the program demonstrated the importance of TAFE NSW as a training provider in the region.
“TAFE NSW is the largest provider of education and training in Australia and provides our young people with the best opportunities to gain the skills they need to find jobs in the region.
“With 16 students graduating from such an important pathway it’s clear how TAFE NSW is providing our young people with the best employment opportunities.
“I am delighted to announce that some of the students have secured employment with Hunter New England Area Health Service which is good news for our local hospitals and local communities.”
The graduation ceremony will be held at the Gunnedah Services Club on Wednesday at 3.00pm.
