PRESCHOOL FUNDING BOOST GOLD FOR NUNDLE
Member for Tamworth and Nationals Candidate for the upcoming election Kevin Anderson has visited Nundle to hand over a cheque to the local Country Women’s Association (CWA) to spend on the community run preschool.
Mr Anderson said the $5000 funding boost is courtesy of the NSW Government and can be used as the CWA sees fit to benefit the centre.
“This will be a great boost for them. They can use this for more books, play equipment, training, or upgrades to the buildings,” Mr Anderson said.
“The women I met with are the ones who know what the community needs so I am happy for them to decide how this money is best spent.
President of the Nundle CWA Ms Claire Lennon was extremely appreciative for the contribution from Mr Anderson.
“$5000 is a lot of money for us, and it will make a real difference to the Centre and the kids who come here. We can’t thank Kevin enough for what he’s done,” Ms Lennon said.
“It was great to be able to show him around and see some of the things this money could go towards. We’ve got a great little town here and this cash will go towards making it even better.”
While visiting Nundle, Mr Anderson was again impressed with the progression the town has made.
“I love Nundle, and the people are great. To see how well this town is doing is testament to the hard work people are putting in.
“The new supermarket, the award winning Woollen Mill, the fantastic school and of course the CWA preschool, all beacons of the progress made in the Tamworth electorate.
“Visiting these places, it’s easy to see how much better off we are than we were four or five years ago. I’m determined to ensure we don’t go back to those days but rather we see our healthy economy growing.”
