OXLEY HIGHWAY CONTINUES TO SEE IMPROVEMENTS
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson is advising motorists changed traffic conditions will be in place next week on the Oxley Highway at Gunnedah.
Mr Anderson said Roads and Maritime Services will carry out work to resurface a 400 metre section of the highway between Blackjack Road and Alford Road.
“We are getting on with the job of making sure our road networks continue to see improvements,” Mr Anderson said.
“It’s not just major works like upgrades, new overtaking lanes and new roundabouts that are important, it’s also the resurfacing work which makes up part of our record investment in regional roads.”
Work will also involve improving drainage and maintenance of vegetation.
Work will take place from Monday 23 October between 6pm and 5am and is expected to be completed in five nights, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions including temporary lane closures and a reduced 40 km/h speed limit will be in place during work hours for the safety of workers and motorists.
Mr Anderson and Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
