NEW FACILITIES OFFER ROOM TO GROW AND ACHIEVE

Minister for Education Adrian Piccoli joined the Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson to open the new Parry School for Special Purposes.

Mr Piccoli congratulated the staff and students of the school, who are already taking advantage of their relocated $3.5 million purpose-built facility in Degance Street.

The new school replaces the original Denison Street facility, which was established in 2002 in a converted suburban house.

“This wonderful new environment gives students room to move and to achieve even more,” Mr Piccoli said.

“The old site was well-loved and well-cared for, but it was limited in what could be achieved at school.

“The bright, colourful new school with its recreation spaces and fantastic grounds offers an environment that will enhance the programs that will best meet the needs of its students.”

The new school includes:
        four class rooms;
        two special programs rooms;
        administration facilities;
        student and staff services; and
        a play area.

The Tamworth High School agriculture plot was relocated to make room for the new Parry School which has joined a growing educational precinct in South Tamworth.

“The new location will certainly enrich partnerships with other public schools,” Mr Anderson said.

“It is through these strong and effective partnerships that the Parry School is able to provide high-quality and personalised learning outcomes that change the lives of students.”
