NEW ROUNDABOUT FOR GUNNEDAH AS RECORD ROAD SPENDING CONTINUES
Gunnedah continues to benefit from record road spending by the NSW Government with Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson announcing today a new roundabout will be built at the Boundary Road and Oxley Highway intersection.
Mr Anderson said planning for the new roundabout is now underway as part of the NSW Government’s commitment to improve the Oxley Highway.
“This intersection has been identified as needing an upgrade to improve traffic flow and safety for all road users,” Mr Anderson said.
“The installation of a roundabout at this intersection will complement the second rail overpass and create a safer environment for vehicles using Bloomfield Street.
“I am committed to building a better Gunnedah which is why I continue to push for vital upgrades to our road networks.
“This is about building a Gunnedah for the distant future, not just for five or ten years from now.
“Early work on the roundabout will start this year, with major work expected to start next year and take about six months to complete.
“Road closures will be required at times to ensure the work is carried out as safely and efficiently as possible and the community will be kept informed.”
More information about the project and other Oxley Highway improvements is available on the Roads and Maritime Services website.
