MANILLA SWIMMING CLUB ON SONG WITH GRANT FOR PA
Member for Tamworth, Kevin Anderson said a grant of $857 from the 2017/18 round of the Local Sport Grant Program will allow the Manilla Swimming Club to buy a portable public address system (PA).
Mr Anderson has been advised that between 60 and 65 children from Manilla use the Club’s facilities while a further 10 or so children make the trip from Barraba to train as well.
“This is a fantastic community asset that will be improved by the addition of the PA system.
“This will enable the organisers to make Club nights even better and the system will also benefit the wider community when they hold events at the pool
“”Fifty metres is quite a long way to yell and the new PA will enable coaches to give important advice and competition marshals to run events smoothly, helping all aspects of training.
“The pool is also the venue for Manilla’s annual Australia Day celebrations and Carols by Candlelight.
“It really is the heart of Manilla and I’m delighted that we can help through the Local Sport Program to give Manilla’s heartbeat a louder voice,” Mr Anderson concluded.
