LINSEED ADDS LIFE AT FINE FOOD AUSTRALIA
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has announced that Mullaley-based Lively Linseed Products will represent the cream of NSW fine food producers when it joins the Flavours of NSW stand at the 2015 Fine Food Australia trade show.
“Lively Linseed Products has been producing award-winning linseed superfoods since 2007 and employs five current members of the Donoghue family” Mr Anderson said.
“Our region continues to produce top shelf agricultural products, and we are proud to offer the team this chance to show off their produce to the world as part of the Flavours of NSW stand this year.
Minister for Regional Development, John Barilaro said Fine Food Australia was again expected to attract around 30,000 visitors over four days including hundreds of national and overseas buyers. “It’s the largest trade show in the southern hemisphere and a fantastic showcase for our local produce,” he said.
“The Government is investing $230,000 to support the Flavours of NSW stand at Fine Food Australia, to promote the 16 producers on the stand and give them a chance to meet international buyers to promote their unique products.”
Company partner Jacqui Donoghue said linseed grown on the family farm at Plain Camp, which was settled by her husband’s Great Grandfather in 1869, is manufactured into a range of nutritional superfood supplements and biscuits.
“Ground linseed is mixed with organic fruit to create four flavour variants which are conveniently packaged in 400g resealable pouches. Our products can be added to any meal to increase the nutritional value,” she said.
“We’re really looking forward to being involved for the second time and showing the thousands of visitors to the stand what we offer. Local and export markets are growing and we are keen to be a part of the action.”
Mr Anderson said other exhibitors as part of the Flavours of NSW stand include coffee, jams and condiments from Mid North Coast, simmer sauces and macadamia products from the Northern Rivers and oils, vinegars and fresh fruit juices from the Hunter and Central Coast.
Fine Food Australia, now in its 31st year, is an annual food trade show alternating between Sydney and Melbourne. This year’s show will run in Sydney from 20-23 September.
