LOCAL EVENTS FUNDING UP FOR GRABS
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson is encouraging organisers of new and emerging local events held between July and December this year to apply for the NSW Government’s 2017 Incubator Event Fund.
Mr Anderson said one-off grant of up to $20,000 are available to event organisers who are staging an event for the first or second time.
“The Tamworth electorate is well renowned across NSW as the premier rural events location and there are a significant number of events that may be able to secure funding to grow and become sustainable for the future.
“Our local region hosts a number of emerging events which help drive tourism and increase our profile which is why this funding is important to see those events grow and prosper.
“We want to continue to grow our local overnight visitation and expenditure and to do this we need to ensure our calendar of events continues to expand.
“Anyone who has organised an event before will tell you that the establishment phase is often the most difficult, so by obtaining funding to assist with some of the costs associated with those events could make a big difference.”
The 2017 Incubator Event Fund is managed and administered through the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.
Applications for round two of the 2017 Incubator Event Fund are open until Sunday 2 April 2017.
