LAKE KEEPIT SPORT AND REC CENTRE TO STAY IN
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson has welcomed the NSW Government’s decision to retain Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre.
Mr Anderson said this is a win for the region and steps can now be taken to modernise the facility and optimize its use.
“After speaking with the local staff at Lake Keepit Sport and Rec Centre it was clear to me that more could be done to help build the usage of the facility and make it more sustainable so I’m glad we have the opportunity to start looking at that.
“I’ve had plenty of positive feedback from different parts of the community about the Lake Keepit Sport and Rec centre and with the Government’s decision to retain the running of the facility we can further enhance those experiences as well as draw in extra numbers to the centre.
The Lake Keepit Sport and Recreation Centre is one of 11 Sport and Recreation centres across NSW.
In a statement today Sport Minister Stuart Ayers said further investigation into capital improvements will also be undertaken to ensure the centres continue to perform and provide the best service for the community.
Mr Anderson said he hopes that the community continues to support the facility by making bookings for their school, sporting, community groups and corporate events.
“I thank the community for their ongoing support of the facility as we look to build its capacity for the future,” Mr Anderson concluded.
