HONOUR EXCEPTIONAL GRANDPARENTS AND OLDER PEOPLE IN OUR REIGON
Entries are now open for the 2017 NSW Grandparent of the Year Awards and the inaugural Grandparents Day Photography Competition.
Member for Tamworth Kevin Anderson is calling for people to nominate stand-out grandparents or older people who go above and beyond for their families and the community.
“Whether you’re a grandchild or someone who is simply thankful for a grandparent or older person who makes a difference, then nominate them today,” Mr Anderson said.
The opening of this year’s award nominations coincides with the launch of an inaugural Grandparents Day Photography Competition.
Mr Anderson said the photography competition, a partnership between the NSW Government and The Australian Centre for Photography, is a great opportunity to recognise the many ways older people contribute.
“Turn the lens towards your older relatives and friends, and show us what they mean to you.”
Both initiatives aim to highlight the invaluable contribution of older people ahead of Grandparent’s Day on Sunday October 29, 2017.
More details about the Grandparents Day Photography Competition are available at www.grandparentsday.nsw.gov.au , entries close on September 1, 2017.
